Ok, so this is the real first post: i tried to actually do something with Randolph instead of the usual messing around.
I had to send an email with a document attached (something work related). It took me two hours and a half, but it was mostly because i had to learn new ways.
First, the “file” concept: there are no files in Randolph. I am used to handle files as the atom of information, now i am finding myself struggling with the fact that i do not even know where my files are. Now you discover that no one of the usual ways works: you can’t edit your files properly on google docs, there is no way to edit even a plain text.
Do you see? The “file” thing again.
It remainded me of the first times i started using Linux: where to begin? From where your skilled friend adviced you to start from. “ps”, “cat”, “ls” …
Start: download dropbox, fileapp. You have your file. Edit? Search for a suitable program: the Apple solution costs nearly 20€. Find something cheaper (cheaper? Why cheap? On the pc you can have everything for free!). Cheaper: “office2 hd”: 5€.
Download, find, edit, save. Save! I lost it. Here we go again: find, edit, save, save as pdf. My god, dealing with tables layout is terrible.
There it is: two hours and a half later i managed to write what i wanted, published it in pdf and sent it by email.
I had to move on a pc near the end, download a thing called open Office and finalize everything, but this is another story.

Rappresenta bene la frustrazione nei primi approcci con Randolph. ^___^
